Raise your hand: who here doesn’t pay attention to half the posts on their Instagram feed? We know we don’t. 💁‍♀️ It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but we get social media burnout just as much as everyone else does.

With the sheer amount of information and content available on social media, it can be overwhelming to figure out what to look at first. That’s why stop motion video works so well! It is guaranteed to stop the scroll of your followers and to take a moment to actually see and appreciate what you post!

As part of our Fall Content Ideas series, we shot 15 autumnal videos in 4 hours. Keep reading below to learn exactly how we made this cozy scene!

What you’ll need:

Step 1: Set up your phone on a desk or using an overhead tripod. Once your flat lay items are where you would like, make sure to lock the white balance and exposure. We have a cardigan, a candle, a notebook, some pinecones, and a pumpkin.

Step 2: Take a photo. Rotate the pumpkin a little.

Step 3: Take another photo. Rotate the pumpkin again. Continue until the pumpkin has ended up more-or-less where it began. Use the ghost feature to make sure the stem of the pumpkin aligns with itself so that the stop motion is smooth.

Step 4: Launch the editor and start editing. We cropped our video and adjusted the crop using the tilt feature. We also increased the speed and adjusted brightness.

Step 5: Save and share! Make sure to tag @LifeLapse_App on Instagram or our hashtag, #LifeLapse.
