Elf Making Friends | Elf on the Shelf Ideas 2022
WHAT IS THE FESTIVE SEASON WITHOUT COMPANY?! We here at Life Lapse hope that your Festive season includes spending time with loved ones, either in person or virtually for those that aren’t near! Hopefully gathering together includes some sort of delicious feast with all the trimmings.
With this in mind, for those with a special visitor (yes your Elf on the Shelf) on a very important annual mission, be sure to introduce them to all the locals. Make them feel welcome! What better way to do that than to use stop motion to do a round of introductions!
What you’ll need:
iPhone or Android with our app, Life Lapse
Tripod or DIY tripod
Elf on the Shelf, of course
Props: in this case, we used a couple of stuffed animals of a similar size to Elf
Step 1: Set up your Elf in a comfy position with their new friends, and lock exposure, focus and white balance to make for a smooth transition. Set up your interval timer to take a photo every 10 seconds or use a bluetooth remote if you have one with the pro version of our app.
Step 2: Start with Elf facing the camera. Take a photo.
Step 3: Turn Elf toward one of the stuffed animals a little bit. Wait for a photo to be taken.
Step 4: Continue until Elf is facing the stuffed animal before turning Elf toward the other one. Make sure to only move Elf a little at a time, so that the video is the smoothest it can be!
Step 5: Launch the editor. Speed up the video, freeze the frames where Elf is looking at each stuffed animal, adjust the brightness, or make any other adjustments to perfect the video.
