Elf Sleighing an Obstacle Course | Elf on the Shelf Ideas 2022
ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END...FOR NOW!! We here at Life Lapse have had so much fun using stop motion to create videos catching Elf move this Festive season. We hope we have provided you all with loads of inspiration and ideas to get the creative juices flowing so you can create your own magic for your family.
We really could keep creating videos well into the New Year, but unfortunately our Festive to do lists aren’t going to complete themselves. However, before we sign off we wanted to leave you with one final idea because who doesn’t want to see Elf sleighing a present obstacle course (pardon the pun...lol)!
What you’ll need:
iPhone or Android with our app, Life Lapse
Tripod or DIY tripod
Elf on the Shelf, of course
Props: in this case, we used a sleigh and some presents from the dollar store. You can use whatever you have around the house that can create a similar effect!
Step 1: Set up your obstacles and the Elf in their sleigh, and lock exposure, focus and white balance to make for a smooth transition. Set up your interval timer to take a photo every 10 seconds or use a bluetooth remote if you have one with the pro version of our app.
Step 2: Start with Elf in the sleigh on one side (out of shot). Take a photo.
Step 3: Move the sleigh a little bit (now appearing in camera). Wait for a photo to be taken.
Step 4: Continue until the sleigh and Elf have navigated all the presents and are out of sight on the other side. Make sure to only move Elf a little at a time, so that the video is the smoothest it can be!
Step 5: Launch the editor. Speed up the video, freeze the end frame, adjust the brightness, or make any other adjustments to perfect the video.
