We’re embarrassed to share how many hours we are on TikTok a week but needless to say, we are obsessed. As a stop motion app, we always tell users how stop motion is ~ fUn and cUtE ~ but you know what? It also gets results. 1.7 seconds is the amount of time to capture someone’s attention as they’re scrolling through their phone and stop motion has a way to stop that scroll.
That’s how we discovered Emily. Her stop motion video popped up on our FYP (for those not on TikTok, the For You Page or FYP for short is the front page of the app that shows the user recommended videos based what the their viewing history and interest, and the algorithm is 👌). Emily’s video immediately caught our attention - our attention and the attention of over 162,000 others! She had posted 8 videos prior to her stop motion TikTok that saw anywhere from 543 up to 3180 views with 520 followers. When people say TikTok is a platform that is easier to go viral on, this is the magic they’re talking about ✨. We were SO excited to learn that Emily had used our stop motion app, Life Lapse to create her video so we had to learn more about her and her journey as a content creator.
Emily Sanchez is a business owner, entrepreneur and a content creator from San Diego, California. Her channels are filled with home decor, plants, adventures and is always so positive. What inspired you to become a content creator?
I started following similar accounts and it opened my eyes to an amazing Instagram community. I always had a passion for decor and at the time I was developing a passion for plants so I decided to start documenting and sharing my home and experiences. The positive feedback I would receive from my fun hobby is what encouraged me to keep growing and become a content creator.
Why is creating visually compelling content important to you?
It's important to me because I feel like I have fun ideas and visuals in my head that I want to share with others. I think being able to create compelling content is a great way of connecting with people because you're able to share that feeling or emotion with others.
What is your favorite type of content to create?
My favorite type of content to create is relatable content that people can connect with and see as inspiration to use in their home or daily lifestyle.

Why did you download Life Lapse?
I downloaded Life Lapse because I wanted to step up my content game. I had tried other time lapse apps before but nothing worked as well or easily as Life Lapse did.
Congrats on the performance of your TikTok! Tell us how you feel about it? Have you seen this type of result in other channels or types of content before?
I was so happy with how well my TikTok did and it was thanks to Life Lapse for helping me create such a fun video. I have seen this type of result for other content before, just not as much as this specific video. It did a great job on TikTok because it easily caught an audience’s attention and it's the type of video that is so satisfying to see that people love to play it on repeat!
What is your favorite platform to be on and why?
My favorite platform to be on is Instagram. It is where I started my growth so it has a special place in my heart and I love connecting with the community I am a part of. Instagram also has so many different ways of sharing content and its fun to be able to share your life in different ways whether its photos, videos, stories, and now fun reels!
What is your favorite plant and why?
My favorite plant is my Monstera Deliciosa, I think a lot of people would say the same too. I currently have two and they are my favorite because they are nonstop growing. I love seeing new leaves appear and they look amazing the bigger that they get, they just bring me so much happiness.
Who are your favorite content creators or influencers?
I have so many favorite influencers in different spaces like interior decorating, business, and lifestyle. Currently my favorites on YouTube have been Drew Scott, Tara Michelle, Lauren Giraldo, Natalie Barbu. On Instagram my favorite accounts are @carlanatalia_ @bylisalinh @lisahomsy and @almostmakesperfect
