It’s 🎃 👻 s p o o k y s z n 👻 🎃, which means it’s prime time for some Halloween content! This October, we were able to create 15 fall and Halloween themed stop motion videos all filmed in four hours using the Life Lapse app, leaving us endless time for jumping in leaf piles and drinking apple cider!

When it comes to stop motion content, the fun colors and shapes that come with Halloween are always eye-catching and engaging, making Halloween the perfect excuse to brush up on your stop motion video skills.

Interested in learning how we made this sweet Halloween stop motion? Keep reading below, and don’t forget to check out all our fall-themed content ideas! This one might be our favorite, though, because it only took three photos!

What you’ll need:

  • Backdrop—  we used 3 pieces of bristol board from the dollar store

  • iPhone or Android and the Life Lapse App

  • Various lollipops and candy types styled accordingly. We used orange and purple lollipops, alongside Rockets Candy.

  • Tripod or DIY tripod

Stop motion Instagram Ideas for Halloween

Step 1: Set up the candies how you would like. Lock the exposure and white balance on the app, and start shooting!

Step 2: Take a photo of your original lollipop setup.

Step 3: Alternate the candies, placing a different color or type exactly where the previous was. We flipped the orange and purple lollipops. Line everything up exactly where it was.

Step 4: Take another photo, and repeat.

Step 5: Tap the play button, and do some editing. Here, we adjusted the brightness!

Step 6: Save and post! Make sure to tag us on Instagram at @lifelapse_app and use our hashtag #lifelapse to see other people’s videos!

We hope you enjoyed this Halloween lollipop tutorial! We’d love to see you recreate this with your favorite candy.
