Sneaky Elf | Elf on the Shelf Ideas 2022
If you have kids or know someone that does, then you’re probably gearing up for Elf on the Shelf season. While Elf brings with it a lot of Christmas joy, alongside some nice behavior, it can also be exhausting to think up creative poses for your sweet Elf, year after year! 🎅
That’s where we come in. This year, we managed to shoot and create dozens of creative Elf on the Shelf video ideas that are sure to keep the Christmas magic alive! Plus, they’re a great way to get familiar with stop motion and to get comfortable with our app, Life Lapse!
What you’ll need:
iPhone or Android with our app, Life Lapse
Tripod or DIY tripod
Elf on the Shelf, of course
Props: we used a toque (or beanie, for all you non-Canadians) to hide our elf!
Step 1: Set up your Elf, hat and tripod set up, and then make sure to lock your white balance and exposure.
Step 2: Start with Elf completely out of frame to one side with the hat on him. Take a photo. Slowly move the elf across the table or surface, taking a photo every time.
Step 3: Launch the editor. Duplicate the last shot around a dozen times, so that there is a hold/freeze effect on that shot. Boomerang the video as well, so that Elf can be seen moving in, and out of frame!
Step 4: Save and share! Tag us @lifelapse_app or using our hashtag, #lifelapse. For Elf on the Shelf content only, take a look at our hashtag #elfontheshelfvideo.
We hope you enjoyed this tutorial! As far as Elf on the Shelf tutorials go, we think this one is our easiest. It would be soooo amazing for practicing your stop motion skills, especially since the kids will love it!
