Elf Hangs on the Shower Curtain | Elf on the Shelf Ideas 2022

For Parents Only! Parents, are you looking for new funny Elf on the Shelf ideas for 2020? Want to see your kids jaws' drop from seeing Elf caught on camera i...

IT’S CHRISTMAS SEASON!! Well, nearly. And this year, ‘nearly’ is more than enough for us! We’re whipping out the hot cocoa, gingerbread cookies, and anything else that has a touch of that cozy Christmas feeling!

With that feeling comes a need to keep the Christmas magic alive, and what better way to do that than to use stop motion to bring all your favorite Christmas characters to life!

What you’ll need:

  • iPhone or Android with our app, Life Lapse

  • Tripod or DIY tripod

  • Elf on the Shelf, of course

  • Props: in this case, we needed the set of the bathroom with the shower curtain!

Step 1: Set up your Elf on the shower curtain, and lock exposure and white balance to make for a smooth transition. Set up your interval timer to take a photo every 15 seconds.

Step 2: Start with Elf on one side, with the curtain closed. Take a photo.

Step 3: Move Elf a little more to one side, alongside the shower curtain. Wait for a photo to be taken.

Step 4: Continue until the curtain is fully open. Make sure to only move Elf a little at a time, so that the video is the smoothest it can be!

Step 5: Launch the editor. Speed up the video, boomerang it, or make any other adjustments to perfect the video.

Step 6: Save and share! Tag us @lifelapse_app or using our hashtag, #lifelapse. For Elf on the Shelf content only, take a look at our hashtag #elfontheshelfvideo
